Through this process of the SWAT analysis and interview I have learned a lot about what
it takes to be a business owner of an in home daycare. In this process I have learned about the
daycare business itself, competition, and recent concerns with the daycare business, strengths,
weaknesses, opportunities and threats in a daycare business. I have also realized that being an in
home daycare owner is not an easy job and there is a lot involved in being this type of business
owner.
First, I will talk about what I have learned about the daycare business itself. When I
began this process I had no idea what it took to become a part of this industry and how much it
takes to become a care provider and the many different types of daycares there were. When
