Spring 2014: Blaw 235 Assignment One
ow important is the Supreme Court? Consider the fact that getting something
passed into an actual law is a monumental task and the review process is
exhausting. Why is it that every year one or more laws passed by BOTH republicans
and democrats, passed by a majority of BOTH the House of Representatives and the
Senate and signed into law by the President of The United States violate the document that
establishes our form of government. The same document that each Senator, each member of
the House and the President has sworn to uphold and protect.

In my mind, that is a lot of highly paid, highly educated people who are often lawyers and who
all are caretakers of our government and who have all sworn an oath to protect and defend the
Constitution, failing at their jobs. They have also failed us, “we the people”.
