FREEFARM
Freefarm provides financial and technical support to owners of farms, cattle and livestock to
help them grow crops in an efficient and effective way and also rear healthy livestock.
Freefarm uses technology in 3 ways to support farmers growing crops or rearing poultry and
cattle:
1.Freecredit is an online mobile based app that links farmers to the banks and provides
them an access to banks that extend agricultural loans on cheap interest rates. Farmers can
use the chatbot and also talk to bank representatives and take appointments for loan
sanction. This will reduce the time spent in queues outside banks and make credit lending
easier to this group.
2.MyMarket is an online store using technology to connect farmers to a global marketplace
with 2 goals: (a) to improve living conditions of farmers by making them wealthier (b) to
make agricultural activities easier by providing a huge global marketplace for buying new
technologies and selling the produce at market prices. This aims at preventing the
uneducated farmers from getting cheated by getting their produce sold at meagre prices.
3.Myfreefarm is an online servicing tool that lets farmers and livestock owners share their
problems. These will be resolved by top class agricultural scientists, vet doctors and
agriculture researches. This tool will also provide training sessions to generate awareness
about new trends in agricultural technology. Farmer community can interact within this
tool, share problems and help each other face their daily challenges related to crops and
livestock.
These apps are also available in regional languages for easy understanding by local farmers.
