M08 Business Formation Project: Final Paper
by Alana Rainey
My husband and I are planning to open up our own food truck called, Everything AND the
bagel. Our home office will be based out of Lafayette Indiana, but our business will extend all over the
state of Indiana. Our menu will offer a variety of different types of bagels, eight different bagel
sandwiches, two different types of smoothies and coffee. We will offer a breakfast and a lunch menu
depending on the time of day. Our breakfast menu will include four different sandwiches: 1. The classic
sausage egg and cheese 2. egg tomato and avocado 3. cream cheese and homemade jam 4. a toasted
bagel with avocado, pumpkin seeds, and a house specialty spice. The smoothies of the day will rotate
between spinach apple pear, strawberry banana, very berry, and orange sunrise. Our lunch menu will
include four bagel sandwiches: 1. A grilled cheese using the bagel of your choice toasted with Gouda,
provolone, and American cheese. 2. A classic bacon lettuce and tomato 3. roasted turkey lunch meat
with colby jack cheese and lettuce and tomato. 4. A Mediterranean style sandwich of lettuce, tomato,
red onion, hummus, and feta cheese. We will offer hot and iced coffees as well as two different
smoothies which we will rotate the same way as breakfast. We will not be offering sides at this time,
but as our company grows we may consider offering chips, and waffle fries.
We chose a LLC business structure for our food truck business because we want to be able to
keep our personal finances separate from our business finances. We feel this is the best choice for our
business because our assets would remain separate to protect our personal finances in case in the event
of a legal issue such as a lawsuit. Our slogan is, “Good food keeps you coming back for more.” We
want to attract all different types of people. We created our menu with the idea that some people prefer
a basic everyday sandwich, some people are picky eaters, some people like to eat healthy, and some
people like to try something new. We want our menu to have a little bit of everything so we can draw in
more people and be able to keep them coming back.

Our mission statement is, “We strive to provide the best quality food for an affordable price. We
use quality ingredients from local sources and small businesses. We consider it a privileged to be able
to provide our community with food that will not only taste good, but helps support our local economy
and small businesses around Indiana.
Food trucks are an ever growing business with over 24,000 active food trucks in the United
States today. What separates us from the rest of them is that we offer a classic breakfast item made 8
different ways that meets the taste of many different types of people. We offer smoothies and coffee
which often are not sold together on food trucks because of the amount of inventory, and time it will
take to make them. We chose to add that extra feature because often people just want to grab a coffee or
a drink and instead of losing out on their business we will have something appealing to offer them. Lets
face it, who doesn't like coffee or a smoothie? We also know that smoothies can be enticing to children
and when a parent wants to get a coffee we can make an extra sale to their child by offering smoothies.
