Enron & Ethics
Some may say greatness is never achieved without risk. Indeed greatness may not come without
risk but how much is greatness actually worth. For some the worth of greatness is worth every moral
‘ber. For others they will risk everything for the promise of power and money. As new leaders are born,
each is faced with decisions that will continue to shape who they are.
Before their bankruptcy in the early 2000s, Enron corporation was a company that was
surpassing every mark and leading every industry they had entered in. Enron like some believed that
greatness came with risk, and risk made them money, and lots of it. Enron did indeed take risks. Risks
they thought to be so calculated they built at empire. At what cost was the empire built though? Enron
became a company known for their crea*ve planned accounting fraud. Enron’s fraud scandal came to
destroy foundation and people everywhere. The Enron scandal became a lesson of who not to be and
how not to model their steps.
As I look into Enron company and analyze my future as a leader, manager, and boss I have
decided how I would have managed the crisis. Although I would like to imagine I would have dealt with
the issue and began to ask question upon arrival; although, if I had been invested with this company and
its people and unable to leave I would create new action.
Every company has their own types of vulnerabili*es. I would have tackled these vulnerabili*es.
