My selected occupation and how it fits my personality
For my research, I picked guest relations manager in The Beverly Hills Hotel. I selected
this job because I am always fascinated about interacting with people from various parts of the
world. Therefore, by choosing this job field to research, I am confident that I will get a chance to
learn different cultures as I interact with clients from various parts of the world. I believe it
would be a great career achievement to work at Beverly owing to its popularity and prestige.
This job fits with my personal qualities in a number of ways. First, I like learning new concepts
concerning different cultures. Being a guest relations manager, I will get the upper hand in
attending to clients who are enriched in cultures from various parts of the world. For example, I
can learn how foreigners exchanges greetings for the first time when they meet a stranger.
Second, this job also aligns well with my interpersonal skills. According to (Doyle, 2017), when
interacting with a person for the first time, they feel very confident if the exchange of
interpersonal skills is flawless. I will use my listening ability in noting the specific requirements
and concerns raised by the customers either through phone or in person.
Work primary tasks
This task primarily entails greeting clients as they arrive, coordinating their check-ins to
assigned rooms and informing them about the hotel’s facilities, and most importantly, making
the guest feel as happy as they would at home (Guest Relations Manager job description

Work setting
My research workplace is at 9641 Sunset Blvd, Beverly Hills, CA 90210 with a
magnificent scenery and a conducive surrounding. I believe this would be an exciting place to
work in due to the proximity to support services such as banking service, health facilities, and
security measure ensured for the employees and the guests.
Educational requirement
i. Proven work experience as a Guest Relations Manager, Hotel Manager or similar role
ii. Understanding of all hotel management best practices and relevant laws
iii. Hands-on experience with Hotel Management software (PMS)
iv. Proficiency in English; knowledge of other languages is a plus
