Learning Portfolio 2 Questions
1. Provide two examples of different points of view you have had with someone else. What do you think
caused these different viewpoints? How did you deal with them?
Two months ago, when I had a project on Facebook, my teammates and I had to discuss gender equality
in Vietnam. Because of having to give opinions, I started first and talked about women’s disadvantages.
In this day and age, even though there are more people who are open-minded than in the past, they still
have a few prejudices or their own beliefs. Specifically, some people still believe that men should rule over
women. Most people prefer having a male baby to a female one. However, my friend did not agree with
my opinion. She also gave some reasons to prove her opinion. Nowadays, at most schools, every male
student is taught to behave gently with their female counterparts. There are many organizations which
were founded to protect women’s opportunities. For example, the ILO and its Vietnamese components
have long worked together to promote gender equality among the country’s male and female workers. In
addition, recently there has been an argument on Tiktok that washing dishes is women’s work. Absolutely,
there are two different perspectives. On the one hand, some people say that it is women’s work because
