The United States traded company that I am doing my business analysis is Starbucks.
Starbucks began in 1971 as a single coffee shop in Seattle. Starbucks is named after Herman
Melville the first mate in Moby Dick. The company’s logo is inspired by a twin– tailed siren from
greek mythology. Starbucks went public on June 26, 1992. Starbucks Coffee Company has been
dedicated to virtuously souring and roasting high- quality coffee. Starbucks has many stores
globally in more than 60 countries and is the premier roaster and retailer of coffee in the world.
Starbucks has been bringing life for every customer through every coffee cup thanks to its
dedication to excellence and guiding principles. (Starbucks Stories and News , 2019)
A company’s vision statement is a declaration of what an organization hopes to accomplish
during the long term of its business. Mission statements are made for the future to help inspire and
help in directing its employees as opposed to its customers. (Peek, 2020) A mission statement can
be a short paragraph that outlines the existence of a business. A mission statement is not a business
plan that shows how to make profits but a proclamation that expresses the motivation a business
has to make a profit. Mission statements are focused on the present time. (Ward, 2020)
