5. Why is a written favor request or action request often more effective than a face-to-face
request? (Obj.3)
A written, rather than face-to-face, request may require more preparation but can be more
effective. Persuasion is often more precise and controlled when you can think through your
purpose and prepare a thoughtful message in writing. The indirect strategy gives you an
effective structure. In face-to–face request you don’t have enough time to make an effective
request than in action request .In face-to-face request persons are affected by emotions ,but in
action request you can write all your thoughts in one paper ,without the influence of anyone.
