Bullied due to Success
Mrs. Bates began to pass out the exam results to her 7th grade math class. She first returns
Arnold Williams test. Arnold, whom is at the top of his class, was very pleased with his results.
However, his classmate Chad Salem was not. Chad envies Arnold’s Success. When Mrs. Bates
gives back Chad’s exam his reaction is not the same as Arnolds. Quite frankly, it is the complete
opposite. Chad failed his exam. He begins ripping his test score up and throwing the remains on
the floor. Mrs. Bates notices Chads frustration, but only adds to the tension in the classroom.
She states to Chad that he had weeks to prepare for the exam. Arnold then chimes in and says
that they have been reviewing in class all week. By this point, Chad is furious. The bell rings and
he storms out of the room purposely bumping into Arnold as he passed by. This has not been
the first incident where Chad has acted towards Arnold in this manner. Chad becomes
vindictive towards Arnold. He starts spreading rumors about how Arnold cheats on his exams.
The final exam is around the corner and Arnold has been going to study during his lunch period.
During this time, Arnold does his best avoiding Chad and his harassment. Arnold leaves the
lunch room for a few minutes to use the restroom. While he is gone, Chad walks over and takes
a picture of his notes. Chad hopes that if he looks at Arnolds notes while taking the next exam,
