Lab Report: 1. Describe the case study analysis from Part I (discussed by the whole lab section). This
should include the description of the case based on the theory, the identification of the problems, and
strategy based on the theory.
You are a personal trainer and you are working with Kelly, a 40-year-old mother of two who is very
active. She participates in a number of long distance endurance races, mostly road cycling races and
open water swimming. She is extremely fit in terms of aerobic endurance, but she has been hearing
more and more lately about the importance of doing resistance training or higher impact exercises that
promote higher bone density, and help protect against osteoporosis. She has signed up to work with you
on creating and coaching her through a strength training program that will help her meet these needs.
The first day that you are working out with her in the gym, however, things don’t go so well. While Kelly
is very fit and a determined athlete, she is not very experienced with strength training, and she seems to
believe that as long as she is trying hard, she must be doing the exercises correctly, because she is an
accomplished athlete. When you try to provide her with feedback and corrections during the workout,
she brushes the criticism off with excuses of why it’s not possible for her to do it “your way,” why she
thinks her way is better, or with arguments that she actually is doing it correctly. You can see, however,
that she often has poor form in the exercises, and you suspect it is because she has some muscle
imbalances and weaknesses. You know that she needs to work with proper form to correct these issues.
You decide to talk with Kelly after the workout to get her perspective on the workout. She tells you that
