A lot of people want to be broadcasters, but one must first have the right voice. We all have
a standard for who would be a good radio host or stadium announcer. Nathan Holtmeyer,
of Washington, Mo, is currently going to school for journalism in hope to one day be a
successful sports broadcaster. When asked what made him want to be a sports broadcaster,
Nathan said, “I am a sports fanatic, I have always liked Mizzou, the St. Louis Cardinals,
and the Kansas City Chiefs.” His favorite sports team of all time would have to be the
Cardinals. Mike Matheny, the Cardinals coach, is his all-time favorite cardinal. “I have
always liked Mike Matheny as a coach, but also as a player”, Nathan says. Not everyone
has the talent to be a great player and make it to the big stage, but sports are always fun. In
middle school, Nathan played baseball mainly but enjoyed some basketball as well.
Nathan went to Washington High School before attending East Central College to get a
start on his journalism degree. He used the excellent and useful A+ program to save some
money that he earned by assisting teachers at a local Catholic School. After East Central
College, Nathan plans to move on to bigger things in the sports analyst field by attending
Mizzou in Colombia, Mo, which is a very recognized school for journalism.
Everyone must have some sort of job so we can afford fun things to do in our social lives.
