Three years after graduating from Kentucky State University with a bachelor’s in Broadcast
Journalism and a minor in Speech I am humbly submitting an application for an opportunity to
join one of the best business programs in the state of Michigan.
How did I get here you may ask? The last few years have been such a journey that I sometimes
can’t believe myself. It all started winter of 2014, I was a fresh Alumna living in Frankfort,
Kentucky inspiring to be the next Wendy Williams. I always had the vision of landing my dream
job at a radio station and making my way through the industry as a “Gossip Guru!” Now, of
course, we all know life has a way of humbling you. Tired of spending countless hours as a
server at a local restaurant I decided to take a leap out on faith and move to the windy city–
Chicago that is! I packed my bags and said goodbye to a place that I had known for almost 6
years!
Upon arrival to Chicago, I had done my research and found a broadcasting program that would
sharpen the tools I needed to become successful in the industry while also allowing me the
opportunity to network with influential people in media! While living in Chicago I developed a
marketing strategy that would later allow me to move to Texas!
March 2016, I was packing my bags once again but this time I was moving across the country to
a state that I had never step foot in. I was no longer a college graduate trying to make it to the
entertainment industry. This time I was a Radio Broadcaster ready to take over Central Texas
airwaves.
Here I am now, after a complete year of serving as a radio personality, social media manager,
blogger and sales team member for the number one hip-hop station in Central Texas focused
and ready to take on a new journey!
