LP6 Brain Stimulation
I think its always interesting to learn about the brain. The one thing I thought
was interesting, as I am sure many others didn’t know either, was the fact that
during the 17th week of pregnancy, the fetus has over 1 billion brain cells. This is
more than the adult brain. To me, that is just remarkable that something in such a
short period of time can develop that much brain cells compared to an adult who
has been on this earth for a bunch of years. The even more crazy part is that when
the child is born, the brain is the one thing that isn’t complete yet. That is just
astonishing; human development is truly amazing.
I also thought the 10 things that are critical to an infants brain development
wear near as well. One in particular that always interested me was music. I often
hear pregnant women saying music is good for the baby but never knew if it was
fact or fiction. Some of the benefits of listening to music during the early stages are it
bring learning elements together, coordination, engages memory and imagination,
builds self-confidence, and helps build a connection between the child and
parent(s). I always assumed that music was just to help develop their hearing or
something, but after reading this I realize that music can play an important role in
not only the child’s brain but also the parent/ child relationship.
