“Borderland Ethics” relates to the issues of law enforcement and justice along the border
because there is a very fine line of fear and achieving the American dream. “Borderland Ethics”
relates to the issues of law enforcement and justice along the border because there is still that
ethical dilemma that creates illegal immigration. The ethical dilemma that it creates is that we
cannot ignore the humane side of it, in which we know that these people are running away from
violence, poverty, government oppression, fear, etc. At the same time, we have the conflict that
we have people who are going through a legal process to receive residency in this country. It is
not fair for those who are doing things correctly, but at the same time we cannot ignore how
these people are running to safe place, which ultimately is this country.
When we talk about “Borderland Ethics” another issue arises. This problematic issue is
the way society views undocumented people. There is a hatred that it is developed towards
