In the article by Nelson Daranciang, Lola Jean Amorin, 70, the bookkeeper, of The Arc
in Hawaii was sentenced to 25 years in prison on August 16, 2018. Amorin was charged for
stealing $7 million from nonprofit that provides services to children and adults with
developmental and physical disabilities and for money laundering, tax evasion, and failing to file
tax returns from 1998 to March of last year. Amorin apologized to The Arc, and said it was all
done by herself, but the Prosecutor who charged her said that there would be impact on her
