George Packer wrote this book to show that not everyone has it easy at first in
their life. You do have to work from the bottom to get to the top. And he wrote this to
show that even to this day that these same people in the book are still working as hard as
they did to keep at the top. Having to know this can motivate people to just worker a little
harder each day to just get to were they want to be.
People who have achieved greatness and made a better life for them had troubled
beginnings. Some did have it harder than others. To succeed in life you have to start from
the bottom and work to get to the top. Therein lies the fact of knowing that the people
who are now famous had to go through the toughest of the tough to get to where they are,
people like Oprah Winfrey, Dean Price, Jeff Connaughton, and many others. Every
