Book Report #3-Architectural Digest –April 2015
As much beauty as there is within the exterior of a well-designed structure, there
must be a creative interior to complement such work. When diving into the
Architectural Digest one will /nd many creative, aesthetically pleasing, and new
design concepts that combine classic and new styles. It is one thing to decorate a
new building and make it look, well, “new”. However, it is another thing to take an
old building, and redesign it, and update its interior and also exterior to make it
acquire both a new age styles, while still being reminded of the old dwelling it once
was. Not only does a home or building need to look pleasing, it needs to be
balanced, this is a quite important concept discussed within the Architectural
Digest. Furthermore a home needs to /t into its environment; such topics coincide
with Frank Lloyd wright and his prairie homes. With modern homes, their needs to
be furniture that /ts the home and which in9uences the 9ow of the home. Many
modern pieces of furniture have a very edgy and also minimalistic design to them
which shady some of Le Corbusier’s design concepts.
