What is terrorism?
According to the webster dictionary terrorism is described as the inflicting fear on an
individual or group

We all have heard or been that person in line at McDonalds with a bigger person in front of
us and some of us would be thinking to ourselves, “they really don’t need to be eating
that”
Talking shit about clothes
But, who are we to tell them how to live their lives and to shame them for being the person
they choose to be or what to wear?
This is a form of body terrorism.
What is body terrorism?
Body terrorism is any violence associated with the body, states Sonya Renee the founder of

Examples of body terrorism range from racial violence (such as lynching, slavery, and
genocide), to the mistreatment of members from the LGBTQIA+ (having prejudice
towards this community is prevalent and has a high number of assaults,harassments,
murders, and suicides )
People purposely shame others just because they are not the ideal image of societies
standards. (they don’t fit into the mold we have in our head)
These actions have harsh consequences that can result in psychological problems such as
eating disorders, addiction, anxiety, depression, low self esteem, and senseless violence as
a result of body hatred.
MentalhealthAmerica.org estimates that about two million people in the U.S. inflict self
harm in some way.
