Body Ritual Response Paper
Living in a society that is very ethnocentric, the reading this paper is based on was
startling. Many Christians are raised to believe that their bodies are temples and should be
protected and worshipped. Although I disagree with the Nacirema’s beliefs that the human body
is “ugly and that its natural tendency is to debility and disease”, I found the reading to be very
enlightening and somewhat shocking (Horace).
