Bloomingdales S.W.O.T Analysis
Bloomingdales was created by Joseph and Lyman Bloomingdale in the nineteenth
century. These brothers sold a single hoop skirt in lower east side of Manhattan at their women’s
clothing shop. Eventually, these brothers expanded their collection beyond just the hoop skirt
which alas led to the creation of Bloomingdales, one of the first department stores of its time.
The store expanded from the lower east side, and eventually a location opened at 59th and
Lexington. After running popular campaigns, creating the first designer shopping bags, and
being a popular New York attraction for people as reputable as Queen Elizabeth herself,
