Our​ ​social​ ​issue​ ​is​ ​about​ ​birth​ ​control​ ​in​ ​Brevard​ ​County,​ ​and​ ​how​ ​important​ ​it​ ​is​ ​to​ ​have
easy​ ​access​ ​to​ ​more​ ​information​ ​and​ ​different​ ​contraceptive​ ​methods​ ​within​ ​a​ ​society.​ ​One​ ​of​ ​the
leading​ ​causes​ ​of​ ​high​ ​birth​ ​rates​ ​is​ ​lack​ ​of​ ​family​ ​planning​ ​education​ ​or​ ​contraceptives​ ​(Bennet
2015).​ ​Teenage​ ​pregnancy​ ​can​ ​have​ ​a​ ​lot​ ​of​ ​negative​ ​effects​ ​on​ ​not​ ​only​ ​the​ ​mother,​ ​but​ ​also​ ​the
child,​ ​and​ ​can​ ​even​ ​have​ ​an​ ​impact​ ​on​ ​the​ ​national​ ​economy.​ ​Only​ ​one​ ​third​ ​of​ ​teenage​ ​mothers
obtain​ ​their​ ​high​ ​school​ ​diploma,​ ​and​ ​80%​ ​of​ ​them​ ​have​ ​to​ ​depend​ ​on​ ​welfare​ ​at​ ​some​ ​point​ ​in
