a) Impact of Discrimination on Individuals of Multiracial Background
The discrimination of individuals based on their race has been prevalent over the last
decade. Multiracial individuals are recognized as distinct and separate races (Gerrard et al., 2018,
p. 198). While discrimination can be complex and difficult to pinpoint, it is majorly associated
with prejudicial and unfair identification of people based on a race they closely subscribe to
(Nisancioglu, 2020, p. 40). It can be in the form of uncourteous treatment, being given low-
quality services compared to others, and being harassed. Discrimination causes higher levels of
stress and health disparities among individuals of multiracial background.
Discrimination results in high levels of stress and deteriorated Health. Individuals’ who
