The foundations of psychology are based on several underlying schools of thought and
principals that create a unified subject. Every school of thought in psychology has its own
theorists that helped to form it and its own unique history of development. Biological
psychology or biopsychology is a large component of the whole and directly related to several
fields of psychology and other sciences, like neuroscience. In order to understand how theories
were deduced clarification of the underlying assumptions that the theorist believe concerning
biopsychology is required. As with any science, to appreciate fully psychology and
biopsychology one must understand the fundamental principles and concepts that govern them.
