Biblical Theology: Sexual Sin in Singlehood
In a world that is filled with sin, lust and sex are two areas that society has normalized
and cultivated into an expectation in everyone. However, Christians are called to be disciplined
with self-control that reflects a clean, Christ-like mind that upholds purity and abstinence. This is
made clear by Paul in 1 Corinthians, and the book of Romans follows through with instructions
and wisdom on how Christians are to be obedient to the law regardless of their sinful nature.
Sexual immortality and lust go far beyond a simple physical act, and it can affect God’s calling,
gifts, and freedom he has provided for a follower.
Sexual immortality begins with lust which may easily and slowly deteriorate a Christ
centered life. In 1 Corinthians 6:18 Paul warns us to flee from sexual sin because it clearly
