Biblical Worldview
Starts with the perfectly righteous God of the Bible. Reveals Man to be under guilt of
judgment in need of righteousness. Reveals God as the provider of a perfect righteousness
through the atonement of Christ. This comes only through repentance and faith. Yielding
resurrection hope in life. A simple definition might be, "practicing the Kingship of Jesus",
that is, living every area of our lives in obedience to and for the honor of Jesus Christ our
Lord (Revelation 4:11). Everyone has a worldview. Whether or not we realize it, we all
have certain presuppositions and biases that affect the way we view all of life and reality. A
worldview is like a set of lenses which taint our vision or alter the way we perceive the
world around us. Our worldview is formed by our education, our upbringing, the culture
we live in, the books we read, the media and movies we absorb, etc. For many people their
worldview is simply something they have absorbed by osmosis from their surrounding
cultural influences. They have never thought strategically about what they believe and
wouldn’t be able to give a rational defense of their beliefs to others. I believe that God
exists (Heb. 11:6) (believing that God exists is only the beginning, even though we may
wonder about the mysterious to us, all God wants us to do is have faith and believe in him
– and you will be rewarded) and that He is the standard by which we measure everything
else. God created everything that exists (Gen.1:1) (the simple statement that God created
the heavens and the earth is one of the most challenging concepts confronting the modern
mind. The creation story teaches us much about God and ourselves and why he chose to
create the world…it was an expression out of his love for us.) and everything is held
together by Him (Col. 1:17). I believe the Bible is God’s divinely inspired Word, revealed
to mankind. I believe that the fullness of God came to earth and lived in the human body of
Jesus Christ of Nazareth 2,000 years ago. I believe that mankind chose to rebel against
God in the Garden of Eden and because of that act of rebellion, sin and death entered the
world (Rom. 5:12-14). I believe that believing in, and obeying, Jesus Christ is the only
way to have eternal life or to be reunited with God (Acts 4:10-12). And we all live by faith.
