Bellevue Learning Center
Being a male from a city with a high crime rate, Cincinnati, Ohio, I have
encountered many people from different walks of life. Some of the people I have been
exposed to while living in Ohio, have had some serious to moderate behavior issues. Not
only was I exposed to behavior issues from being in school, sports, and just hanging
around with friends, I worked at the local Young Men’s Christian Association, or
popularly known as the YMCA, for a number of years.
I strongly feel that I personally would thrive with working with the students from
Bellevue Learning Center. I say this confidently because, one I am a very sociable and
personal, and secondly I have mentored young boys. I may not be able to relate to them
when it comes to behavior, but I can relate to them in a way to where it can affect them
personally. Also, I feel like at the YMCA I was trained and taught how to relate to people
with conflicts professionally.
With the knowledge that I gained mentoring young kids while working at the
YMCA, I personally do not have any fears, concerns, or anxieties with the children that
attend Bellevue. I am also confident in that if a child was to get angry out of sort in any
way, I have many tools that I can use to get them to calm down and relax so we can solve
