I thought for the interest of this particular endeavor it would be prudent for me to focus
on the millennial generation since that's the generation I am part of and represents the
majority of the workforce at this point. So taking into account the motivation factors that affect
millennials such as wanting a purpose, finding meaningful work, being ambitious, wanting
trust-worthy leaders etc. I find that the best motivation theory that encompasses these ideals
would be equity theory where these demographic want to feel a greater investment in their
work environments which also translates to their ideas of organizational justice as it applies to
their daily lives. (Robbins & Judge, 2019, p. 235)
While I think we can find individuals within this demographic that might respond to
other forms motivation such as McClelland's theory where he offers the concept of people
needing rewards outside of mere survival to motivate them which ironically ties into Maslow's
idea of self actualization. (Robbins & Judge, 2019, p. 221). So even after base needs such as
