Reasons Behind Bees Extinction
World is full of flora and fauna with lots of colors, species, and uniqueness. In ecosystem, or
in other words biological community, everything depends on one another and works like Lego,
where without one block the whole construction might breakdown. Sadly, in our times bees might
become a missing block. Bees are going instinct because of three main effects: primarily because of
the colony collapse disorder, secondarily Asian bees, and lastly because of pesticides, thus creating a
possibility of making planet Earth unsuitable for living. Without these hairy yellow insects there
would be no pollination, which would lead to loss of majority modern crops, flowers, fruits, and
vegetables, consequentially creating starvation condition, which is often associated to torture and
pain, for all omnivores. With absence of bees, world would face an ugly death.
First and main reason why bees are going instinct is colony collapse disorder. Benjamin P.
Oldroyd, professor in Behavioral Genetics School of Life and Environmental Sciences in the
University of Sydney, argues that Colony collapse disorder, also known as CCD, is the main reason
why bees are vanishing all over the world. The phenomena is characterized by a very small number
of working bees in the colony and presence of a live queen as well as presence of nonworking
bodies. This is a major problem, because it is very difficult to identify, until the numbers are
crucially small and the colony is nearly its’ death bed. Actions need to be taken as soon as the first
few individuals are lost, but when one cannot see the issue until it is too late, not even miracle would
be able to help. It is similar to clear bowl running out of water: changes are so smooth and
overlooked, that it is almost impossible to detect change the until it is all gone. Another big
challenge with colony collapse disorder is absence of a cause. As nature documentary “Silence of

the bees” reports: there is more than one contributing factor to the disorder. Some of the possibilities
include but are not limited to: virus, cellphone interference, fungi, pesticides, malnutrition. With so
many possibilities it is very challenging to pin point a particular cause. Up until now scientists do
not know what is creating this difficulty, therefore they are unable to construct a cure for the insects.
It is almost impossible to come up with a worthy resolution if the root is a mystery. Just like trying
to extinguish fire with oil instead of water, there should always be a targeted plan to fight of an
uneasy task, otherwise it would only make it worse. For example, trying to increase bees’ population
by creating new hives would not be the best choice, because bees might get lost between two
“houses”. However, if some safe environment would be introduced, it would increase chances of
their survival, thus creating an opportunity for life for all creatures. Colony collapse disorder is the
main reason why bees might disappear, because it does not have an obvious root.
The second reason why bees are diminishing is introduction of new invasive species to the
