3. Discuss the classic experimental design and describe its three major elements. Give
an example of its application.
Research designs, applied to criminal justice is one method of controlling for
invalidity when researching any given elements to compare. In this area of research the
comparisons are aimed at resolving causality problems, and a means of excluding rival
causal factors. Experiments conducted by researchers may be the main tool for
comparisons of all research methods.
