1. Briefly explain the difference between the active voice and the passive voice. Include an

In a sentence using the active voice, the subject performs the action expressed by the
verb, meaning the “doer” of the action is the grammatical subject. In a sentence using the passive
voice, the subject instead receives the action. One aspect of how we use verbs is called voice. It
is a simple but commonly misused concept. Voice is simple because there are only two options,
active voice and passive voice. Verbs are normally in the active voice. Most of the time in our
speaking and writing we unconsciously use the active voice. Active voice is when the subject of
the sentence acts or does something. An example of that is, Layla cut her hair. Another example
