Availability of supply: within national borders or imported? The electricity supply can
be affected by amount of generation units, installed capacity, power capacity,
investment, energy produced, fuel consumption, unit price of fuel, energy losses, the
length of transmission and distribution network, interruption of distribution network,
and captive power.
Economics: globalisation of economies can make it uneconomic to produce your own power
and cheaper to import it. Oil prices can rise and fall dramatically. (sudden rises in costs of
energy forcing increased imports of higher-priced energy).
The implausible factors contributing to the release of the future implorable situations that
conveniently converged the utmost importance to the factors also allowed for a routinely
and biased view on the way in which they reacted to one another, in this case a
hydroelectric dam not only creates electricity but acts as a controlant for the flow and
amount of water passing throught creating a viewpoint
Technological developments: finding new sources of energy (e.g., shale oil or wave power) :
will improve the environmental conditions but expensive and may require large amounts of
money to operate and repair.
Environmental considerations: climate change, backlash against nuclear power: Can help
force change and stop damaging things such as nuclear power plants that could cause risks
to the world and local community. Can be bad as backlash may not be educated about issue
or may not know the full story.
Cultural attitudes: reluctant to give up current technologies / changing public attitudes
towards fossil fuels.: Can be beneficial as current technologies may not need to be updated,
however is normally bad as the unwanted cultural attitudes to adopt new attitudes will
