AUTOLIV BACKGROUND
The company I choose for this theory application is Autoliv. A Fortune 500 company founded in
1997 in Stockholm, Sweden, Autoliv was incorporated in the state of Delaware, U.S., and is the
result of a 1997 merger of the Swedish company Autoliv AB and the U.S. company Morton ASP.
It has become one of the world’s foremost lean manufacturers of automotive safety
components that consist of seat belts, airbags, and steering wheels. The organization operates
in 29 countries and has over 85 plants with a reported revenue exceeding $10 billion in 2016.
