Introduction
Many people around the world have different views on the topic of premarital sex.
Depending on where a person lives and the people and groups they identify themselves
with, their views will change. In some countries, like Malaysia, where Islam is the official
religion, premarital sex is strictly prohibited (Ghani 1). In other countries like the United
States, the trend of premarital sex has been on the rise (Finer 1). People are now delaying
their marriages until their late twenties and thirties, rather than getting married in their late
teens or early twenties in the past. Statistically, people are still loosing their virginity at
similar ages as they were in the past, but with people other than their spouses. I feel it is a
bigger deal to get married at a young age now then to loose your virginity to someone who
is not your spouse. This has been a controversial issue for the generation of people who are
their teens and twenties because having sex before marriage is now more common. There
is no right or wrong thing to do in regards to premarital sex, but many people have
different views on what kids should do. I believe that premarital sex is normal and people
should be able to do what they want without being judged. I know that people sometimes
tend to place labels on those who engage in sexual activities early on, but one should not
be labeled for choices that they make in reference to their sexual decisions. My hypothesis
is that premarital sex is not an issue in this current generation.
Background
In general, many people agree that premarital sex is being more widely accepted,

(Changing Attitudes About Sex 1). However, there are those who still tend to disagree. The
idea of having sex before marriage is depicted in many different ways to some. For those
that feel as if it is a bad thing, they tend to have reasons for why they believe so. From a
Christian point of view, they believe that god designed sex to be enjoyed within a
