Constellations
Since the beginning of time, when people first wandered the Earth, there have been sites
of “object” in the sky. All through history, between the different cultures, many mythical
stories have contributed to different star patterns they could see in the night sky. These
stories are the starting point to what we now know as constellations. The greatest contributes
to the mythology behind the constellations is from the Greeks and Romans. About 6,000
years ago, artifacts were found that suggest ancient Romans and Greeks saw different objects
in the stars such as; the Bull, the Lion, and the Scorpion. The earliest writings about the
constellations were from that of Homer in the lliad, however, in that time the constellations
weren’t connected with any certain myth, god, or hero. It wasn’t until a few centuries later
when they started to be more associated with certain myths.
