1.1 The introduction/background of the articles
The title of this article is The Understanding of Islamic Management Practices
among Muslim Managers in Malaysia by Mohamed Sulaimen, Nur Arfifah and Abdul
Kadir (2013). This article are about how Muslim managers want to implement Islamic
management in their organization. At this time, studies about Islamic management are
still lacking as compared to western management. In Malaysia, they are more focus to
Islamic Finance and Banking and Islamic Economic. Islam is not a religion that only
focuses on the lives of individuals, but Islam also encompasses aspects of their daily
lives and their interactions with other human beings.
In the first place, the objectives of the articles are to find out the understanding of
Muslim managers on business management from the Islamic perspective. Next, they
want to investigate the extent to which they have implemented the Islamic management
practices in the organization. Then, they want to find out the problems and challenges
faced by Muslim managers in implementing Islamic management in their
