INNOVATION MANAGEMENT MARKETING ASSIGNMENT
The print sector, especially the Indian magazine industry, is the one I’m focusing on for this
project. As the pandemic disturbed our daily operations and altered how we communicated
with the outside world, practically every industry saw a shift in their operational duties. The
overall impact is skewed toward the bad rather than the good. Similarly, the arrival of “Jio”
into the Indian market caused a significant shift, as it offered simple and inexpensive internet
access throughout the country. The print sector was no exception, with a sharp drop in
revenues following the epidemic and lockdowns.
A further common tendency noted across businesses was the simultaneous migration to a
digital platform. This allowed firms to decrease their losses while also taking advantage of
emerging possibilities that arose as a result of the crisis. An surge in online offerings has been
noted in the context of the print media sector. Almost all print media firms began to use social
media and other online channels to build numerous touchpoints with prospective consumers
and, as a result, loop them into their digital subscription models.
Consider the magazine BUFFET DIARIES.
BUFFET DIARIES is a well-known and well-recognized brand in India and throughout the world.
They just became the first print media organisation whose income from digital media topped
revenue from print media.
