Why is it important to follow a process when trying to solve problems?

Decision making is a systematic process of selecting the best among the
different alternatives. Making decisions can be difficult but following a
process will provide an individual with confidence, accountability and self-
awareness. Being an effective decision maker is key to personal and career

Read the short story, The Good Samaritan, and answer the questions below.
3. After Jim (the main character) found the man in the hallway near his apartment, what problem was
immediately identified?
He was having some type of attack in distress
4. If you follow Jim’s actions throughout the night, what did he do to deepen his understanding and
gain relevant information about the condition of the stranger?
Went back to the hospital to check on him but was no longer available to speak with.
5. The morning after the incident, Jim’s alarm wakes him up.
a. What options did Jim consider that morning?
When he realizes the events that happened the night before he got up immediately and took a
shower ate then headed to the hospital after taking the brown bag off the table he was looking
at. Staying in the bed for a little while longer to get some much-needed rest.
