Assignment 2 ERD
Your next assignment is to construct an ERD for the entities that you identified in assignment 1. The ERD
is the implementation plan for the rest of the database. It is important that you identify all of the
entities and attributes that you will need to model your database. Think of this as sketching out the
classes that you will need for a large Java project; you will inevitably forget things, but proper planning
prevents poor performance.
Ensure that you use the format laid out in the slides for your ERD. There are many tools out there that
will generate different styles of ERD. Think of my style as the “corporate standard” for where you are
working and follow it. Variance from the standard will be penalized.
I require that you use a computer based tool instead of pencil and paper. These are documents that are
part of your work; you wouldn’t consider hand-writing a user manual, would you?
Please ensure that your name and date are on the document.
Your ERD must be submitted as an image (jpg, bmp, tiff, gif, png, etc) or as a PDF.
