1. How did Coretta Scott King tie the symbolism of a “quilt” to the African American
community?
It was to an honor African Americans that died from aids because according to the
speech in the age groups of 25 and 44for male. For females in the same group has died
from it, but half sadly passed away from new H.I.V cases at the ages between 13 and 24.
The quilt is to show that aids can be in any race just now one, because back then they
were racist to everyone that tried to say anything. People are even racist today, but for
other issues. Back then the increase was slow, but it could spread as will which why it
could be used to bring awareness and worry about it.
