1. How does sensory adaptation affect advertising effectiveness? How can marketers
overcome sensory adaptation? Sensory Adapation can affect advertising
effectiveness in many different ways. It will affect it in either a good way pr bad way
depending on how you take it. Marketers overcome sensory adaptations because it
can attract customers by many ways. An example of that is by having a
ringtone that can be played when someone is around you, People around you will
ask you what the name of the ringtone is and more information about it. It is a way
to market something without physically doing so. You can even see some sensory
adaptation by seeing them on buses, trains, social media and more!
2. Discuss the differences between the absolute threshold and the differential
threshold. Which one is more important to marketers? Explain your answer.
Absolute threshold is usually the least intensity required for a person to sense its
presence but the Difference Threshold is the specific amount needed to notice a
change between the two things you have. The more important one has to be
absolute threshold because it is able to identify the least level of a person that can
detect a variety of stimuli that includes hearing, vision, smell, touch and even taste.
That is very important.
