–Assessment Exam 2 Study Guide… Goodluck everyone!!
1.What are the three types of Validity?
-content, criterion, construct
2. What are the two types of criterion validity?
a. Concurrent (at the same time) and Predictive (how someone
does on the GRE to predict your first year grade in grad
school)
3.What is an example of Criterion validity?
a.ex. A driving test, licensing test, pilot test
4.What is Criterion Contamination
a. When your test’s criterion is influenced by a predictive
measure and is not balanced. For example, if you are taking a pilot test
they measure processing time, vision, and skills. If there are 100
questions and 45 of those questions are questions about vision, the test
is unbalanced and the criterion is now contaminated
5.What is criterion related validity?
“Minimum competency”. For example, on the drivers test the hi+–
ghest score you can get is a perfect 26 but you need a score of AT
LEAST 19 to pass and get your license.
6.What is Item validity Index?
It is for criterion related validity and measures how well each item
is assessing what it is supposed to be assessing. Ex. how well does
question 16 on the pilot exam assess visual speed
7. What is Expectancy table?
a.what do you need, how many items, what are the categories
8.What is Expectancy data?
a.The rate of which you expect something to occur
9.What is Item difficulty index used for?
To discriminate between low and high scores (content validity)
Validity coefficient of the test
10. What is Construct Validity supposed to do?
It is supposed to underlay all the validities
11.What is construct validity based on?
