There is a very short turnaround time for students who graduate in January or August for transfer in January or
September. Your graduation date in many cases will be after you start at your new University. Because of this, I want to
remind you of a few things.
1. You will be applying before you graduate. Pay attention to the admissions (and financial aid) deadlines for the
universities you are applying to. The MassTransfer application is the only application you need (except BSU and
they want you to apply online and not with the MassTransfer application).
2. You will send your transcript 2 times ($5 each):
a. When you apply (send to all the colleges you are applying to)
b. If you are graduating in August, send a transcript after spring classes
c. And after you graduate (send to the college you plan to attend)
3. Your general education requirements will be waived as part of MassTransfer. If you are completing a
MassTransfer block course (maybe Math or Science) in your last semester or a summer session, then your
University advisor may not know that you are completing the MassTransfer block. It is up to you to tell the
advisor that you will be completing the MassTransfer block. The University can only add up to 6 credits more of
general education coursework if you will complete the MassTransfer block.
4. If you are eligible for the tuition discount, it will not be reflected on your (first) bill. It will be a credit to your

For January or August graduates
All AA degrees and the AS Early Childhood Education Transfer and AS
Business Transfer Programs (plus a few other programs that are eligible for
all MassTransfer benefits except waiver of gen ed requirements).
