The Exploratorium was awesome after dark and even though, I made it there late I still
enjoyed myself with my wife. We paid a little extra and visited the tactile dome for
curiosity sake, my wife was not a fan and was escorted out, sadly I followed, but they were
good sports and let me return to navigate my way through. I had my wife help me choose
the three pieces, but the entire experience was fun and something we would have never
have thought of without Professor Ghiara. The three pieces I choose were “Moving
Objects” by Pe Lang, “Digital Foot” Prints by Eric Fisher, and my wife’s favorite “Lab
Illustrations” by Lucy Conklin.
My favorite was “Moving Objects” based off my fascination with kinetic force and
motors. Displayed in a large window hundreds of rings move back and forth in a beautiful
array on a lot of strings. When they appear to glide through each other the illustration says
they actually bounce as they collide with each other. I fasciation deem when my wife was
the one that pointed out they were driven by motors.
“Digital Footprints” was a combination of my wife and I fascinations with the City of San
Francisco. The Digital recreation of buses and trains paths is mesmerizing and how they
create the city blocks was just beautiful. My Favorite part was the Bay Bridge going across
