The Amon Carter Museum of American Art is a cultural institution based on Fort Worth
Texas that is concerned with collections of artistic works that include photography, feature
paintings and sculpture, and paper paintings. These are mainly works that were produced by
some of the most influential names in the industry in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.
Since most of the work in the institution was based in the mid-nineteenth to the early 20th
century, it was only right to expect the museum to have curious and experimental energy.
However, my very first impression of the institution was of it being a little bit complex for its
age and time. The portrayals of the Old West by Fredric Remington depict the exploration and
settlements in North America. This was an important turning point of the American art history.
