Aristotle is seen as one of the towering figures in ancient philosophy. His
contributions include but aren’t limited to logic, mathematics, physics, biology, ethics, politics,
medicine, and many more. Aristotle’s most impactful and groundbreaking studies were in science
and philosophy. According to an article from Berkley, Aristotle's teacher Plato had located
ultimate reality in Ideas or eternal forms, knowable only through reflection and reason, Aristotle
saw ultimate reality in physical objects, knowable through experience1 which made him
different from medieval and modern thinkers. Although many of his works needed tweaking,
Aristotle’s belief that the universe was eternal and change was cyclical, is proven to present day
to be plausible.
Aristotle’s scientific contributions are beyond the scope of this exhibit; however,
the most significant can be said to be that he saw reality in organisms, concluding they were
