Aristotle’s “Deductive Reasoning” Specific Idea (Replace with Title)
Aristotle is considered the father of deductive reasoning in the philosophical world. He
wrote the famous example that all men are mortal, Socrates is a man so therefore Socrates is
mortal. This is also referred to as syllogism; an argument form that consists of two premises and
a conclusion. When a person truly understands a topic then they can create a deductive argument,
one that starts with a general concept and works toward a more specific one.
