Humans and Technology
Technology has become a fundamental part of our lives, by making it indispensable for
us. It is used by people of all ages and for all-purpose. Years ago, not everybody had the access to
have a smartphone, a computer, or a tablet, nowadays everybody has minimum of one device
where they are connected to technology. This has its positive effects but it also brings its negative
effects. Human beings are becoming slaves of modern technology and this has been causing
actions such as social isolation, loss of privacy, and unwillingness of sharing with others.
One of the main negative impacts that technology is causing to the people is the social
isolation. If we go back in time, around three or five years ago, it was strange going to public
places and finding couples and kids using some technologic device. Today is a new reality, the
uncommon thing is going to a place were people are talking to each other face to face and not
using any cellphone or tablet. Because of technology people are moving away from having a good
time or share moments just because they are all day in front of a little screen.
Another serious event happening because of technology is the loss of privacy due to
social networks. Back in time whenever you did something, you shared it with you closest friends
and family. Things have changed, now in a social network you have an endless number of friends
in which you don’t know all of them well, and you are able to share everything you do live, in the
moment. People now don’t do anything private or enjoy something without posting everything
they eat, visit or do.
With technology now you never have the option to be bored. On the contrary, you will
become slaves of it, we don’t loose time with our family and friends, and that we make a good use
of it.
