Are Olympics ever worth it for the host city?
1.Problems of hosting event and solutions to solve.
The Olympics is a sporting event that features a variety of sports competitions. All the
nations participate with the city’s best team to go against other teams that represent the team’s
country, the Olympics is the most important event of all time. Hosting the Olympics in a city is
not cheap. The process starts with the cities bidding to host the Olympics. The highest bidder
wins to host the Olympics.
The main problem of the Olympics is the cost of hosting the event in the city. Due to the
Olympics high demands, once the company picks the host. The company wants the city to spend
billions of dollars upgrading building transits, and airport improvement, hotel capacity, building
facilities for athletics and a large stadium. This effect has turned off bidders to host the event in
hosting cities, due to the past infrastructure cost. The city wants to impress the International
Olympic Committee (I.O.C.), so the city wants to go above to impress the I.O.C. Also, the city
