Applying Ethical Decision Making Models
This year, when Juneteenth was announced it was now a federal holiday beginning
June 19, 2021, an employee for the company I work for decided to show his appreciation
for the holiday by conducting a google internet search while on duty. The employee found
a picture of an African American woman wearing a muzzle with a collar and chain. He
printed several copies to post throughout the work area including the employee
breakroom. By the next shift, several employees reported to leadership that there was a
very offensive picture posted throughout the work area. Additionally, an employee posted
the perceived unethical picture out on Facebook and shared that her employer supported
racism.
